About Jane Sweet
Jane has been practising acupuncture in Manchester for 20 years. She first became interested in acupuncture after being involved with women’s self-help health groups. She indentified a need for treatments which take into account the whole person and which work well when conventional medicine cannot provide all the answers.
She has had her own practice in central Manchester since that time, as well as working for Tameside Primary Care Trust, in a drop-in for drug users, on the acupuncture course at Salford University and at The Acupuncture Works (a multi-bed clinic). Trained in Five Element acupuncture and then in Traditional Chinese Medicine, she uses a combination of techniques tailored to each individual patient. She is interested in the links between energy and physical structure and incorporates Zero Balancing into her treatments.
She has completed various further training courses, including a two week course at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has also spent two weeks volunteering in an acupuncture clinic set up in Gaza by World Medicine. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, and attends a monthly supervision group.
